I was in Paris visiting an exhibition of the collaborative works created by Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat at the Fondation Louis Vuitton. While observing those paintings, another image caught my attention: a woman walking through the museum wearing a Mona Lisa T-shirt and carrying a Louis Vuitton handbag.

In that moment, I realized that art, fashion, and contemporary culture had already become part of the same collective imagination. That realization gave birth to Popunk. Not as a fusion of Pop Art and punk, but as a concept that brings together two opposing movements to reveal that the icons of art history and the symbols of our time can coexist without losing their identities. My work is born from that encounter, because what is truly new is not always born from conflict—it is born from coexistence.
